BROOKS, AB - The City of Brooks has launched a website highlighting key issues facing their region.

Specifically, the City narrowed it down to five topics:

  • Sustainable Municipal Funding
  • Innovative Technologies for Wastewater Treatment
  • Access to Mental Health Services in Rural Alberta
  • Equitable Police Funding
  • Immigration Supports

Mayor Barry Morishita says in the past, municipalities haven't done a good enough job communicating these issues with MLA's.

"This gives us the opportunity to educate representatives for us in the Legislature," explained Morishita. "It's important because if people have those perspectives on their own and at least understand the surface issues, we certainly think better decisions can be made."

Morishita says it's crucial that area residents and the next MLA understand these issues because it impacts the quality of life in Brooks.

If you haven't already, Morishita encourages you to get out and vote tomorrow, so the riding is represented properly and the City of Brooks can continue improving on services over the next four-years.
