MEDICINE HAT, AB — After lots of anticipation and several delays, the Save-on-Foods store in Medicine Hat is now officially open.

The grocery store located on Strachan Road opened its doors at 7 a.m.

Crowds could be seen throughout the store Friday morning, doing their grocery shopping, or simply examining the new store.

“We've had a nice warm welcome from everybody, which we're so appreciative of,” said Jeff Woods, who manages the Medicine Hat store. “We're here to really come into a new market, but very sincerely, and we're looking to just be part of the community and give people a great store to shop at.”

Save-on-Foods is open daily from 7 a.m – 11 p.m.

CHAT News captured footage of the opening Friday morning, which can be viewed below.
