MEDICINE HAT, AB — Little League baseball players at Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Centre will soon be learning from some of the best high school players in the city.

The middle school is partnering with the Medicine Hat High School Mohawks to introduce a new training program during school hours, beginning in early 2020.

The program, which will be offered to Grade 7, 8, and 9 student-athletes at Dr. Roy Wilson, will also encourage senior Mohawks to become mentors by instructing and coaching.

Lyall Foran, the head coach and program director for Mohawks baseball, is spearheading the new initiative and says he's excited to lift it off the ground next season.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with Foran to learn more about the upcoming program, how Little League players can take advantage, and the benefits the program is expected to bring for both institutes.
