Moose Monarchs eliminated from playoff contention

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

The Monarchs, who wrapped up their regular season with a loss to Lethbridge on Wednesday, were scoreboard watching over the weekend as the Billings Scarlets wrapped up their season.

The Scarlets defeated the Great Falls Chargers in two games at Dehler Park in Billings on Saturday, winning by scores of 3-0 and 16-5, respectively.

The wins move the Scarlets past the Moose Monarchs for the final playoff spot in the standings.

Majestics split with Lethbridge

The Medicine Hat Saamis Rotary Majestics split a pair of games with the Lethbridge Lakers on the road Sunday.

The Majestics won their first game 11-6, but lost the second game 10-9 following a Lethbridge walk off.

Tyran George was the winning pitcher for the first game, allowing six runs, six hits, and striking out two batters in five innings.

Adam Klick and Tanner Angstadt each had a pair of hits in the for Majestics.

In the second game, Angstadt was credited as the losing pitcher. In one and two-thirds innings, he allowed three runs, three hits and two errors.

Klick and Connor Drever each had two hits for the Majestics in the second game.

The Majestics wrap up their season with a pair of exhibition games against the Medicine Hat Junior AAA Little League All-Stars, who won the provincial championship against Airdrie this weekend in Medicine Hat. The first game takes place Tuesday at 7 p.m., while the second game takes place at 6 p.m Thursday. Both games are at Jeffries Field.
