HAVRE, MONTANA – The Medicine Hat K of C Knights have booked their spot in the Montana State Tournament, with a ‘B’ final victory over Lethbridge on Sunday morning.

Earlier in the day at the North Districts Tournament, the Knights kept their season alive with an 11-7 win over the Vauxhall Spurs, with the Knights scoring six runs in the fifth inning.

In the ‘B’ final, the Knights got out to a 1-0 lead following a wild pitch from Vauxhall that allowed Keon Vereschagin to score from third base.

The Knights took a commanding 7-0 lead in the second inning, as Medicine Hat posted six runs on the board.

This included RBIs from Zach Stark, Joel Herron, Ethan Boutkan, Easton Brooks, and Travis Small.

Medicine Hat gave up their only run of the game in the fourth inning, with the Knights cruising to a 7-1 victory over the Miners.

Small went the distance on the mound for the Knights, allowing just one earned run on five Miners hits while striking out one batter.

Booking their place in the North District finals, the Knights have clinched one of two berths in the State Tournament.

The Knights still have one more game to go in Havre, as they battle the Lewistown Redbirds for the tournament championship.

One game on Sunday for the Saamis Rotary Majestics, as they are in Lethbridge for a two-game set against the Lakers.
