32-year-old Joseph Schow is now the 4th person to declare his intention to become the Conservative Party of Canada candidate for the Medicine Hat – Cardston – Warner riding.
Schow made the announcement Wednesday, and most recently he was working as the chief of staff for Sherwood Park – Fort Saskatchewan MP Garnett Genuis. Schow says the issues he’d like to focus on are standing up for farm families, defending Alberta’s ethical oil industry, and supporting traditional family values.
Schow says his experience working for Genuis should be considered an asset.
“I think the most important thing to note is that we are in the middle of a parliamentary session,” said Schow. “We need someone who can go in and be effective from day 1.”
Schow now joins Glen Motz, Brian Benoit and Michael Jones in seeking the local CPC nomination. The vote to choose a candidate is expected to take place on June 23.
