More than 100 Medicine Hat Youth took to the streets to raise awareness for domestic violence for the Kind Communities Alliance Door-Hanger Campaign. Youth volunteers went door-to-door on Saturday delivering the hangers, and the message that family violence is unnaceptable. The youth dropped off the hangers at about 12,000 homes in Medicine Hat.
Corinna Roth-Beacome is the Chair for Kind Communities Alliance and says it’s important for children to be apart of the cause.
“I think that if we are going to break the cycle, then we need to start educating our youth as to what healthy relationships look like and the importance they have in standing up for other individuals that may be going through this.”
