Blackfalds RCMP has laid criminal charges in connection with a fraud investigation in the County of Red Deer. In October of 2012, RCMP began their investigation into an internal fraud reported to police whereby an employee of an unspecified oil field company appeared to be altering financial documents and taking money from the business.
From 2006 to 2011, 36 year old Shelley Davidson of Cochrane, Alberta was employed in a book keeping capacity where her responsibilities included accounts receivable, payroll, and day end returns. The man accused of defrauding a recently widowed Medicine Hat woman has pleaded not guilty to his charges. Nicholas Grunwald faces nine counts of fraud as well as a count of break and enter.
